2 Peter: The Fate of the False Teachers

By No Comments1 min read

Relevant reading: 2 Peter 2:4–10a

This week’s passage focuses on false teachers, continuing Peter’s discussion in verses 1–3. Now he adds a new dimension to his discussion. Having spoken of the presence of false teachers among the church, Peter goes on to illustrate their condemnation with three examples:

  1. Judgment on the angels who sinned
  2. The flood in the day of Noah
  3. The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah

But there is a huge difference between the fate of the false teachers and the fate of the righteous. While He brings judgment on the false teachers, God has given His children an undefiled and unfading inheritance (1 Peter 1:4).
