John 13 marks a significant shift in Jesus’ ministry. He’s done numerous signs to prove that He is the Christ, the promised Messiah. He has also shown that by receiving Him one is given the right to be called a child of God. In the upper room, Jesus now turns from public ministry and focuses on His disciples. Having taught them how to have true life, He goes on to teach them how they should live.
