Ken Boa teaches on Luke 4 as part of his 365 Key Chapters of the Bible series, based on his Handbook to Scripture. In this critical chapter, Jesus’ three-year public ministry begins following 30 years of preparation (Luke 2:52). Ken gives an overview of the unique contributions of Luke to the New Testament (through this Gospel and the book of Acts) as well as summarizes themes across all of the Gospels, namely:
- Growing belief/growing opposition to His message
- The need to count the cost before following Him
- The opposition (Jesus’ enemies) desired Him dead
- His resurrection fulfilled His purpose—to “seek and save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10)
