Should we set aside time for prayer?
We know that Scripture calls us to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17) throughout our day. But in order to begin this practice, it is helpful to establish a formal time with God in which we purposefully pursue a relationship with Him.
Here are some tips for desirable prayer habits:
- Choose the best time
- Choose the best place
- Be consistent
- Focus on the person of God
- Come before Him in humility
- Come expectantly to the throne
- Do not do all the talking
Although these tips should not become a legalistic checklist, they can be useful in growing your appetite for prayer. Practicing prayer consistently will deepen your relationship with God over time.
