Question: Postmillennial, premillennial, amillennial … which view of the end times is supported by Scripture?
A consistent hermeneutic applied to both first-advent and second-advent passages in the Hebrew Bible leads to a premillennial understanding of prophecy. In the premillennial view, the second coming of Jesus Christ (i.e., the second advent) occurs before the thousand-year reign of Jesus Christ on earth described in Revelation 20:1–7 (known as the millennium).
For a good overview of the eschatology issue and the various positions, I recommend Mark Hitchcock’s book The End: A Complete Overview of Bible Prophecy and the End of Days (view here on Amazon).
