Life in the Presence of God continues to garner attention three months after its release in November 2017, with Ken Boa’s latest interview featured in BreakPoint’s Listening In podcast series hosted by Warren Cole Smith. Smith—the vice president of mission advancement at the Colson Center for Christian Worldview as well as a BreakPoint columnist—has interviewed numerous prominent authors, political leaders, musicians, actors, and others for this weekly program of WORLD News Group. The half-hour podcasts take a deeper look into subjects’ ideas and works.
In his interview, Ken discussed how Life in the Presence of God, as well as the companion training guide A Guide to Practicing God’s Presence, offers an alternative or antidote to gnosticism (which believes the material world is evil), contending, with support from verses like Colossians 3:23, that “everything matters.” Contrary to what many of us are taught (explicitly or implicitly by watching others’ examples), there is no “sacred/secular” divide.
Ken also delved into (among other things) the personal impact this book material has had on him, including opening his eyes to how he could better “redeem the time” in ways he hadn’t previously thought of, and in helping to heighten his view of the role of Scripture in our lives.
