Ten Marks of a Disciple

We have been created and redeemed to glorify God as living incarnations of His wisdom. In this conclusion to the “Life of Wisdom” series, Ken Boa discusses ten attributes that should mark a wise disciple of Jesus:

  1. Perspective — Cultivating an eternal perspective in this temporal arena.
  2. Position — Developing a growing grasp of our true identity in the heavenly places.
  3. Presence — Learning to practice God’s presence in all activities.
  4. Pursuit — Choosing Jesus above all earthbound goods.
  5. Practice — Training in the spiritual disciplines.
  6. Power — Increasing dependence on the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit.
  7. Passion — Growing in both the love and the fear of the Lord.
  8. Perception — Delighting in nature both doxologically (praising God) and phobologically (amplifying our fear of God).
  9. Purpose — Living out our universal purpose (evangelism and edification) and our unique purpose.
  10. Prospective — Longing in anticipation for the coming of the Lord.
