The intertestamental period, otherwise known as the “400 years of silence,” is the block of time between the Old Testament and the New Testament periods. During this time there were no prophets—no new revelation from God.

Today, we too live “between the times”: God has given us His Word and we now live between the first and second coming of Christ. In the same way that God’s promises were still true for the people of Israel during the 400 years of silence, so too are His promises sure as we live in light of the cross and look forward to the return of Christ.
