“In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.” (Genesis 22:18). God keeps His promises. As Acts unfolds we learn how He fulfills this promise. Cornelius, a Roman centurion, prays to the Lord and seeks Him. He would have been one of the last people that Jewish believers thought could be saved. But “God is not one to show partiality, but in every nation the man who fears Him and does what is right is welcome to Him” (Acts 10:34b–35). The Lord sends Peter to Cornelius, and he and his whole household receive the Gospel. This opened the door for Gentiles to become a part of the Kingdom of God, fulfilling the promises that God made to Abraham.
