The Lord commanded Moses and Aaron to speak to Pharaoh. He said, “See, I make you as God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron shall be your prophet. You shall speak all that I command you, and your brother Aaron shall speak to Pharaoh that he let the sons of Israel go out of his land” (Exodus 7:1–2 NASB). Like clay hardening in the presence of heat, so Pharaoh’s heart became hard in the presence of the works of God. But because of this, God multiplied signs and wonders to bring Himself glory. The Egyptians would know that the He is Yahweh, the one true God.
